This one is very close to my heart. This is a story about Pat whose dysfunctional journey takes him from big league fandom to competitive dance and many other unexpected life experiences and how he fights with the odds of life in his own way.

6) Train to Pakistan by Khushwant Singh (Not a fiction novel)

Back in 1947, during the partition, what pain and sufferings people must have been through is described perfectly in this book.

The morning I finished reading this book, I couldn’t getup from the bed. I stayed at home the whole day re-thinking about it.

7) The Winner Stands Alone by Paulo Coelho :

The story is based on one day at the Cannes Film Festival. He shows how people act a certain way all their lives and how extremely materialistic our generation has become.

8) Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

A contemporary thriller novel depicting the mystery about the Protagonist, Nick. What happens to his wife, Amy? Where is she? What did Nick do to her? All your questions will be answered in the book. And don’t forget to get surprised/shocked at the end.
